Tank Renovation in Castelsarrasin, France
Three underground fuel storage tanks in Castelsarrasin, with a
storage capacity of 3,750 m³ each, were built in the thirties of
the last century. They are made of concrete with a steel inliner.
The particular part of the construction: The steel plates have
rectangular curved edges. Thus the surface of the internal steel
tank is not plane.
These tanks do not meet the national requirements any more,
especially they are not double-walled with permanent leak
detection according to EN 13161, class 1.
In 2010 the company Tankbau received the contract for the
complete tank renovation.
New concrete bottoms with a slope to the pump sump will be
executed on the repaired steel bottom. Because of the curved
edges of the steel plates the tank wall is covered by a
shotcrete wall.
The tba leak protection lining with permanent leak detection
according to EN 13161, class 1, will be applied on the tank wall
and bottom.
